What is Face Yoga?
Face yoga is about getting to know the over 40 muscles on our face, getting intimate with them and able to master each muscles’ strength, flexibility, and stability in our good hands. Face yoga is also about working our inner-self, nurture our soul with positive energy from the within.
My Journey with Face Yoga
My exploration of Faceyoga started when I decided to take time off from my business and travelled to Myanmar for intensive meditation. For 12 months, I was in a forest in South-Eastern of Myanmar living with one suitcase. In the forest, there was no internet connection. Haircut could be done on my own and so did any type of self-care. I consumed the limited skincare products I brought along; I used no cosmetics. I picked up FaceYoga training by Danielle Collins, and I kept exercising my face for 15-20 minutes daily. The result has been promising. Not only do my facial muscles become stronger with stability, I have also nurtured the capability to mindfully control every muscle on my face; I am also able to envision how I can glow from the within. I have turned into a true believer of this natural power to heal.
Coming back to the conventional world, I have been working from home a lot due to the pandemic. Salons have been intermittently closed. I keep my Faceyoga routine where I see benefits throughout these two years. I like how I look. I like my energy. I wondered, “What if I can share with more people this beautiful technique, enabling more people to master their face conditions and glow?” And here I am. I am not the master. I am the believer of “Everyone is the master of our own.” It’s my pleasure to enable everyone to be our own master. Strength, flexibility, stability, all in your good hands. Are you ready, masters?
About Face Yogis
Despite the joy from the fact that rarely people are able to guess my actual age, which I believe will happen naturally as each face yogi practices, contentment is from the within. Same as yoga and mindfulness practice, Face yoga is about knowing ourselves, not comparing with others, striving to be a “ better me” with “chanda”(in English, determination) (決意), continuous effort, embrace the middle way - balance. I appreciate who I am, I fully embrace my unique feature as an asset. Confidence is built from within when yogis have full visibility of the destiny of our faces and mind.
